About Us / History of President (Jeffrey S. Giles)

I have always enjoyed electrical and with the help of my father became an Aviation Electronics Technician in the Navy. I went through basic Electronic and Electricity School in Millington, Tennessee in March of 1987.

Upon completion of military service, I was fortunate to begin working immediately on the Navy Housing new construction for NAS Pensacola in March of 1993. Upon completion of that project, I was graduated to perform work on the Naval Brig at NAS Pensacola.

That’s when business started to grow. I was awarded contracts on two new commercial buildings for the arrival of the Basic Electronics and Electricity and the new Air Traffic Control School and later contracted to install all trainers for the ATCS. Upon completion of the Air Traffic Control School, I became a traveling electrician to expand my platform in a myriad of applications as a subcontractor.

Laplace, Louisiana – Coker Plant - Performed a three month revamping of all electrical systems. This was my first introduction into the Oil Industry.

Mobile, AlabamaGlobal Maring Explorer - Subcontracted work at the ship yard. The ship was in the movie “The Abyss”. The ship had several well bays for drilling and underwent a partial electrical renovation.

Morgan City, Louisiana – Shell Ursa Platform – Largest project to date to work on. Total cost of project was 1.45B. This was the largest and deepest platform to date. The platform was so large, it had to be assembled in Venezuela, and eventually transported to the Gulf of Mexico.

Gulf of Mexico – Shell Ursa Platform – Performing upgrades and change outs. Subcontracting three weeks on and three weeks off. My three weeks off schedule lead me into my next venture…

Islands of Adventure @ Universal, Orlando, FL – Could not pass this project up, being from Orlando. It was a year long project installing the Park Wide Audio System with Bose speakers. Upon completion, I decided to obtain my low voltage license in 2000, so I could provide turnkey operation to General Contractors.

In 2002, I passed the State of Florida Master Electricians Test and formed J. Giles Electrical Services, Inc. in April 2003.

I have been blessed to subcontract for small residential jobs to large commercial projects. Thank you for taking the time to read the credentials of Jeffrey S. Giles.
